I’ve been concerned for a little while that my style is quite loose. I seem to create a piece of work very quickly, but it’s never very tight, never entirely accurate. It was beginning to become a problem for me but I spoke with a couple of people in my class, including the class teacher. The consensus is that this is pretty well “my style” – it’s how I paint and is no bad thing. It’s different and seems to be enjoyable to most people. It doesn’t need to be accurate, it just needs to be good to look at, to give the right impression.
I guess that’s true. I am not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but it seems like at least the part about it being my style is true. The only thing to do is to just paint more and see if things evolve. Ultimately, that’s fine by me and I just need to relax and accept that I paint the way I paint.
I do really enjoy the whole “throwingpaintonthepageandseeingwhathappensnext” thing, though it can be a little frustrating when trying to paint something that needs a little more accuracy. I guess, ultimately, that’s the beauty of learning.
